Service Benchmarking, care service audits

Care Service Audits

Can you provide evidence that your service is:-

Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well Lead?

How fully does your service evidence the answer to these five key questions?

Until you have a benchmark for your own service through your own self-assessment you cannot begin to gather evidence to support your compliance.

Our auditing service aims to highlight your areas of strength as well as those areas that may need improving upon.  Our aim will be to establish your areas of strength in addition to your areas of weakness in a non judgemental way, rewarding way that ensures you feel motivated to celebrate your achievements and make any changes required.

Our auditors are fully experienced to provide this service in a non intrusive sympathetic fashion thus ensuring that your daily routines of service provision are not affected and your service users feel comfortable and happy participating in the exercise, your staff will not feel under pressure or under the spotlight.

We can either audit the whole of your service against current regulations or simply areas that you would like to have evaluated.   In addition as we audit we are often able to identify specific examples of best practice that you will wish to use when completing your provider compliance document.

Why audit - The New Care Act 2014

Following intense political and public pressure on CQC, in the wake of high-profile care home scandals. Care home inspections have more than quadrupled over the last three years with a record high of 21,126  in the past year.

Under the new Care Act 2014, the CQC now has the power to begin immediate prosecutions without notice of care provider in cases of serious failures of care. Prior to the introduction of the Act, the CQC was required to serve a notice against the provider before prosecuting, and if the provider complied with the notice it could take no further action.

NOW is an essential time to obtain an independent quality audit performed on your service by Your Care Associates.  Your audit will highlight areas of excellence within your service as well as identifying weaknesses before CQC find them.  With CQC having new powers providers need to be very confident that all areas of their service are fully compliant as well as being able to evidence the things they do best.

Our team of professional care auditors will ensure that your service has a through compliance check.  As part of the audit process they offer interviews with services users, families and employees thus evidencing your open, inclusive approach to care provision.  Every client who has ever invested in a full service audit has been pleased with the positive approach.

NOW is the time to add periodical independent audits to your quality assurance system.  All providers will have some area of their service in which, due to familiarity, they cannot see the weaknesses. Invest in your care business by employing professionals to undertake a compliance check of your service.

By conducting a thorough check of compliance you will be fully prepared to provide evidence of the quality of your service.

Our customers state

"Through the audits we have identified small areas of non compliance and managed to rectify them before our inspector attended. Thank you for the whole process it was far more positive than I expected" Care Provider North East

"The bi annual audits you conduct are one of the most helpful tools in our quality assurance system.  We initiated the audits having been served notice to improve.  We are now fully compliant and intend to keep things that way. Having a period of non compliance cost us far more than any audit has ever done." Care manager South West

"Having your help with audits has increased my confidence, thank you" Care Manager North

"Auditing has helped us obtain improved CQC reports, they are the best investment we have made this year.  We Delayed obtaining help due to costs. Now I know the cost of non compliance is greater by far" Provider North West

To ensure you meet CQC requirements you need to know exactly where your service is at this particular moment in time.  To compromise on this would be detrimental to the future success of your organisation.   Following our evaluation you will be fully informed on every part of your organisation, how it works, what needs to be changed, what you are doing well already and how fully you achieve CQC compliance.
It can however be difficult to be objective when you are striving to provide person centred care based on meaningful relationships and daily life.  A fresh, independent set of eyes can provide you with an objective view of your organisation similar to that of the inspector.  In addition it clearly demonstrates your serious commitment to service quality.

Following our visit you will receive a clearly laid out feedback report that can form the basis of your action plan for improvements.

Auditing will prove to be a rewarding experience bringing with it a renewed sense of clarity, purpose and an all important direction.
